Inhalt
Business Consultancy International is a degree programme aimed specifically at the international business sector of today. It endeavours to prepare students for the demands of a globalized economy and offers an extensive and practical education in business management. The entire programme is taught exclusively in English. Special emphasis is placed on personal and leadership skills, specialist consultancy proficiency, and a global orientation.
BCi was initially launched in September of 2003 as a four year course with students obtaining a Magister title. It was based largely on the existing Wirtschaftsberatende Berufe, a German language programme, however with an emphasis on a more internationally orientated content. In September of 2004 BCi was converted into the new three year course finishing with a Baccalaureate, followed by a two year Master’s.
This change was implemented as a result of the Bologna Declaration of 1999, which was the first step towards globalizing higher education. Along with this amendment from Magister to Baccalaureate/Master, the Declaration also established a system of credits in order to provide students with a more widespread mobility between universities and courses. One of these systems is the internationally accepted "European Credit Transfer System", ECTS, which the University of Applied Sciences has adopted.
But BCi is much more than simply a degree programme:
Innovative
The BCi Programme concentrates on providing a solid academic as well as a practically orientated education, taught completely in English. It is the first of its kind in Austria and thus an opportunity for the students to pioneer a course that endeavours to put the University of Applied Sciences on the list of the most renowned institutions of higher education.
Internationally Orientated
Due to the implementation of the ECTS system, education at the University of Applied Sciences nowadays is more flexible and globalized.
The BCi programme is commited to offering its students a profound business education in a multinational environment. It strongly supports exchange semesters at one of its partner universities as well as working experiences in foreign countries to prepare its students for the globalized economy of today.
Besides English, being the "BCi Language", numerous courses in other foreign languages, such as Russian, Spanish or French, are offered.
Market Orientated
The BCi programme aims at preparing its students for an international career. The offered courses ared designed to meet the requirements of the business world of today and tomorrow. Strong emphasis is laid upon a global orientation in both attitude and ambiance and proficient language skills. The careers that graduates can expect to enter with their degree reflect these capabilities and include management positions in Advertising and Public Relations Consultancy, Key Account Management, Treasury Management, Finance and Accounting and many more.
