  • Anforderungen This course is aimed at professionals responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of complex computer networks, for example, System Engineers, Network Administrators, or Internetwork Engineers. It is expected that the target audience will be educated to degree level or equivalent in computer science or electrical engineering with some experience of maintaining Cisco internetworks.

    This is the second of two courses on Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting. The courses are designed to prepare learners for the CCNP CIT exam 642-831. This course will cover commands and guidelines for problem isolation and resolution at the network, transport, and application layers of the OSI model.

    Unit 1: Network Problem Symptoms and Analysis

    - Identify symptoms of problems occurring at the network layer.
    - Identify functions of network layer commands.
    - Identify functions of commands for isolating Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and routing table problems.
    - Identify functions of commands for isolating border gateway protocol (BGP) exterior routing protocol problems.
    - Identify functions of commands for isolating problems with IP traffic, IP interfaces, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
    - Identify functions of general end-system commands for isolating network layer problems.
    - Identify Windows and UNIX commands for isolating network layer problems.

    Unit 2: Network Problem Isolation and Resolution

    - Identify guidelines for isolating problems at the network layer.
    - Isolate an access list problem at the network layer.
    - Isolate an IP addressing problem at the network layer.
    - Identify guidelines for isolating a problem in router or switch VLANs.
    - Identify functions of commands for resolving IP interface problems.
    - Identify functions of commands for resolving IP routing problems.
    - Identify functions of commands for resolving access list problems.
    - Identify functions of end-system commands and applications for resolving problems at the network layer.
    - Sequence the steps for resolving a problem at the network layer.
    - Sequence the steps for resolving an access list problem by permitting appropriate routing updates.
    - Resolve an IP addressing problem involving a duplicated IP address.

    Unit 3: Transport and Application Layer Problems

    - Identify symptoms of problems occurring at the transport layer.

    - Identify functions of commands used to isolate network management problems.
    - Identify functions of commands for isolating file management problems.
    - Identify functions of commands for isolating telnet problems.
    - Identify functions of commands for isolating problems with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
    - Identify guidelines for isolating problems at the transport or application layer.
    - Isolate an extended access list problem at the transport layer.
    - Isolate a Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) problem at the application layer.

    Unit 4: Transport and Application Resolution

    - Identify functions of commands for resolving network management problems at the application layer.
    - Identify functions of commands for resolving Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) problems.
    - Identify guidelines for preparing for a Cisco Systems Technical Assistance Center (TAC) call.
    - Sequence the steps for resolving an extended access list problem at the transport layer.
    - Sequence the steps to enable a Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) download on a router by configuring TFTP variables.
